I have read so much about the benefits of taking Vitamin C orally. Now I am reading that there may be benefits in applying vitamin C topically. Is this true?
This one little nutrient is causing so much commotion within the world of health and skin care. For years we have known the benefits of Vitamin C when taken internally. It helps treat and prevent colds and flu, but more importantly it forms and maintains collagen which is the basis of all connective tissue such as skin, ligaments, cartilage, vertebral discs, joint linings, capillary walls, bones and teeth.
Whilst it can not claim to be the fountain of youth, Vitamin C does have its place in skin care. Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants known to protect us against free radicals. Free radicals are extremely unstable compounds that attack the bodies cells, including skin cells. Research is now showing that free radicals may be one of the main causes of wrinkles and premature aging in the skin. Appling Vitamin C and the other powerful antioxidants such as Vitamin A, E and Green tea topically may act as an invisible shield against the destructive free radicals.
Always apply Vitamin C products underneath your daily sunscreen as this will offer advanced protection from UV rays and free radicals. If you decide to use these products, I recommend the BIODROGA ACNO LIFT and BIODROGA REPAIR + CELL PROTECT SPF 15
